Tell us about your breakfast?

We serve a continental style breakfast from 8am-9am in the breakfast room. Coffee from abracadabra, a variety of tea, fruit, yogurt and granola and baked goods. You can feel free to eat in the breakfast room or take it back to your room. there are two excellent breakfast spots within 2-3 minute walk of the inn, soulfully good and montvert. They open at 8am and 7;30am respectively, if you are looking for something hearty and close.

What are your common areas like?

simply put, we have very little common space outside of the guest rooms. There is a breakfast room that has two tables and seats six, which are good for working on a laptop, taking a call or having coffee with a pal. when the weather is warm, there are chairs on the front deck and a small backyard with tables and chairs (and a fire pit) for you to enjoy!

Tell us about how you are currently handling covid?

covid realities are changing every day. in accordance with vermont and woodstock regulations, we expect that non-vaccinated guests will wear a mask in common areas at all times. Your hosts are vaccinated (except for our two year old!) and we are incredibly attentive to cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces. We will not come into your room to take any laundry/change sheets for the duration of your stay to limit contact overall.

what is your cancellation policy?

Reservations are fully refundable seven days prior to check-in. Reservations cancelled within seven days prior to check-in are non-refundable but will be credited towards a future stay of equal or lesser value. To cancel a reservation, please call us at (802) 457-7338. We will take full payment for the room seven days prior to check-in.

what should i pack for my trip to woodstock?

It’s all about being outside here, so you’ll want to check the weather in advance and bring a range of options. It’s colder here than it is in boston and New York, guys! Two pairs of shoes, one definitely sensible for walking, and a rain or wind coat is always handy. We will have plenty on hand, but SPF and bug spray in the summer. Boots for the mud in the fall, early and late winter. A hat goes a long way. Here’s how i like to do it: 1-2 good lookin’ outfits for walking around town, 1-2 functional outfits for getting outside.

i have kids, how can you help me survive (thrive, even?) while visiting?

Yes! We have kids too and we live here, so we get it. We have lots of toys on hand and are also used to helping little people feel at home - goldfish go a long way. although we are right in town, we have a little fenced in garden area with a hose that is great for playing. We have a travel crib if you need one as well., loads of toys and some great ideas for how to spend your kid-driven day.

why should I stay at the vesper?

the vesper is a simple place. A pretty room to lay your head while you enjoy this beautiful town and the incredible upper valley. a simple food to start your day and some friendly faces. It’s like a giant, old house where you feel comfortable and relaxed.

stay here because the founder of airbnb is now worth 14 billion (yes, thats a b) dollars. let’s put more money and energy into the local economy, which also means you get to know this awesome community more easily. things at the vesper are laid back and pretty hands off so guests can have their privacy and feel like this place is theirs.

I am super into silence. is your inn quiet?

We love quiet time too, but we want everyone who comes to be warned that we live here with our two small children and they are not pin drop quiet. we also are right in the middle of town - as the only thruway between the highway and rutland, the main road in woodstock is quite busy. Think logging trucks. So if you’re okay with that, and like a little action, then this will be perfect! If you get sensory overload and want isolation, there are a lot of lovely places just outside of town that might be a better fit!

Do you allow pets?

As pet lovers it is tough to say no….. but we have recently had a couple experiences that have required us to hold on allowing most pets for now. We can occasionally make exceptions if things are quiet, so call us if you want to check on that. We love your dogs! And know you love them too, so we are sorry for the inconvenience. ,
